Magnolia ala Georgia

A photo inspired this design. The bottom of the photo was of the grass and what looked like fallen leaves. I loved the glow that gave to the photo and incorporated them into the painting as well. When I finished it, it reminded me of Georgia O'Keeffe's Morning Glory. Upon further study, I noticed she also used greys at the top of her painting and black (I used Midnite Green) at the bottom. What an unexpected surprise that was! I like to think Georgia was standing next to me as I created this piece. And she can stand next to you as you paint it too.
